Can you believe Valentine’s Day is only 10 days away? All of the love birds in California must be thrilled for the big day!

What are you doing to celebrate? Some couples may be heading off for a romantic weekend getaway, while others may be staying in with a bottle of wine and good movie. On the other hand, some men may be surprising their lovely lady with beautiful jewelry! If this is the case for you, we want to extend some advice to you.

As your trusted insurance agency, we want to make sure you are always protected, no matter what area. This week, we have a few tips for you when it comes to protecting your expensive purchase. Here are three tips to protect your V-Day jewelry:

#1: Learn how to clean jewelry. Always ask the jeweler for care instructions or guidelines. The jeweler may even have a cleaning service. It is important that you take advantage of this!

#2: Find a safe place. If your loved one will not always be wearing their gift, it is important that you offer them a safe place to keep it. This may mean a satin-lined box or even a safe (for the really expensive items!) You wouldn’t want to misplace or lose such a special gift.

#3: Protect with jewelry insurance. Have you considered an additional valuable articles insurance policy for your gift? This can easily be added to your home insurance. Do not hesitate to ask us about it.

Be sure to follow the advice above and your loved one will enjoy their gift for years to come. Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!
